TYPICAL DEER HUNT: We start our day at 5:00 am to meet and greet our guest. Soon after, we place our hunters in stands that are located in high traffic, or food plot areas. These locations are chosen by countless hours of scouting, planning, and learning the deer's movements. Our stands are sturdy, comfortable, and most important ... SAFE.
We have our early season of Archery, Mid Season of Blackpowder, and the regular firearm season that starts in mid November. All three seasons have differant approaches.
Archery season is a early morning placement (5:30 am)- HUNTERS ARE PLACED IN THEIR
STANDS IN THE DARK. Archery folks will hunt until around 11:00 am and break for
lunch and relax until the afternoon. Deer move early morning and late afternnon
during this time of the year. Most opportunties are at dawn until 10:00am and
from 3:30pm until dark.
Blackpowder hunts are also a early morning placement. We like to have our hunters in the woods around 5:30am, and let them sit until lunch. If they choose to stay in the woods all day, we can prepare a bag lunch for them. This time of the year is when the bucks are on the move to service as many does as possible. Deer movement is constant. If our guest want to break for lunch, we provide a hot tasty lunch. After lunch we will place our guest on the same stand or chose a differant stand,if desired.
Regular firearm season, we again want to get our hunters into
the woods around pre-dawn, let them sit. If our guest wishes to still hunt, we
will keep the woods quiet. If our guest want us to stir up some deer, we can do
this by a man drive or turn the hounds out. The hounds will jump deer and give
chase. Again, we will break for a hot lunch if desired, and get back to hunting
after lunch. Our guest will be able to hunt until the edge of dark.
Deer that are harvested can be processed by us for a $50.00 fee (four quarters, one pair of tenderloins) Each hunt allows the hunter the opportunty to harvest one deer. There is a $100.00 fee for a second deer if desired.
TYPICAL SPRING GOBLER HUNT: Spring Turkey Hunt is a half day hunt, it is a Virginia Law. We only have a limit amount of Spring Gobler Hunts. As your guide, we again spend countless hours finding and roosting Goblers. When our guest arive for their hunt, we should be able to put them on Goblers that have been roosted the night before. Many of our guest will do their own calling, we are always there to help if needed. We start our morning very early, between 5:00am and 6:00am. The hunt is over at noon.
