VIRGINIA HUNTING GUIDE: Spring and Fall Turkey Hunting, Dove, Ducks, Small Game, and Whitetail Deer Hunting.
Welcome to Southern Hospitality Guide Service. We are located in King William County, Virginia, 100 miles southeast of Washington, D.C.
We offer a variety of hunting opportunities: Deer hunting being the most favorite among our guest. We also provide guided hunts for Spring and Fall Turkey, Duck and Dove hunts, and small game hunts.
Dove season starts around the first of September, and good wing shooting to be had. Our guide service gears up for Deer hunting in October with Archery and Crossbow hunts. Next in November, as the first of two "ruts" begin, Muzzleloader season starts, followed up with general hunting season. We switch gears in mid November and offer Virginia Deer hunting with shotguns, and hunting with hounds if desired until January, all in a "fair chase" environment. I personally will be your hunting guide.
I have 30+ years hunting the same territory. Our terrain consists of hardwoods, river
bottoms, swamps and creek bottoms. We also have standing pines, cut over, open farm
land and food plots. We spend countless hours making your hunt safe, comfortable, and
with a high percentage of harvest opportunities. Our stands (total of 30+) are both above
and ground level. With this many stands, we can work the wind, and travel routes of deer.
The stands are situated where deer travel, either by their natural movement or when hounds give chase. Many of our stands have room for two guest. Our territory is over 1500+ acres, and much of it lays along the Mattaponi River. Big "trophy" size bucks use the river and it's marshes as home. When the hunting pressure builds, Virginia Whitetail Deer will go to the swamps, and as your hunting guide, we know where to find them. Again we can hunt with or without the use of hounds. Using hounds to hunt deer is important in swamps and marshes. It gives us the opportunity to move deer that are bedded in swamps and marsh areas that are not accessible for man. These areas also produce big bucks and deer that have eluded the hunting pressure that builds as the season progresses. Hunting with hounds has always been a family tradition, and one that may soon go away.
